Safety & health employer responsibilities
The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 came into force in September 2005. It applies to all workplaces and significantly builds on the previous 1989 Act. The Act places an increased emphasis on employers’ responsibilities for health and safety in their organisations. It is imperative that a comprehensive up to date Safety Statement is in place and that it is integrated into the business and reflects the actual day-to-day working practices. By completing Risk Assessments, organisations will be aware of the main hazards in their organisation and the controls necessary to manage these hazards.
A member of NISO (National Irish Safety Organisation), Lateral Consulting can help you to create a customized Safety Statement that reflects best practice and covers all the legislative requirements.
